David Basler

David Daryl Basler passed away Oct. 3, 2021 in the small town of Yetter, son of Mary and Elmer Basler.

Daryl met Sallyyette Broderson March 24, 1951, married, and they became the loving parents to four daughters; Peggy McNutt and David Heaverlo, Joni and (Dean) Mitchell and Kathy and (Mike) Hymes, all of Moses Lake, Wash., and Beth and (Bud) Vogt, Ellensburg.

Daryl was a first grade teacher, then a principal and finally received his doctorate degree and became a professor. He was an amazing mathematician and put those skills to work in the missile department of the Korean war. He taught junior high and high school math in Hampton, served as both elementary and junior high principal in Anamosa and taught in the education department at Central, Wash. He also served as an athletic representative. Daryl supported many students, including all four of his daughters, while working and obtaining their master’s degrees.

Daryl and Sally also helped start bridge clubs in Anamosa.
