Shona Kardaras, 59, died unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, with interment in the Riverside Cemetery. Fr. Nick March officiated the services. Friends could call after 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Shona Rhea Stewart was born Nov. 29, 1961 in Cedar Rapids. She was the daughter of Donald and Sharon Farley-Kirby. Shona graduated from Anamosa High School in 1980. She played softball for the Raiders all through high school. Shona served in the United States Navy where she worked as a cryptologist. Following her Honorable Discharge from the Navy, she returned to Anamosa.
Shona was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. There was nothing more precious to Shona than time spent with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Gina (Dylan) Clymer, granddaughter, Demi-Dimitria, and Georgio Kardaras and three siblings; Sherry Pearson, Pamela (Butch) Gretten and Brett Kirby. She was preceded in death by her parents.
