Steven Ray Baker


Steven Ray Baker, 70, passed away Sept. 3, 2021. A memorial service was held at Fairview Baptist Church Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. He was laid to rest next to his parents and brother at Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa.

Steve was born in Anamosa Jan. 26, 1951. Throughout his life, Steve lived in Iowa, Arizona, and New Mexico. He returned home to Iowa in 2019. He enjoyed fishing, auto mechanics, auto racing, laughing with family and friends, and serving God at his church homes in three states.

He is survived by his wife, Jorgeanne Yakus Baker, and her family; his three children, Joshua Steven Baker (Cassie), Tucson, Ariz., Sarah Beth Baker (Shawn), Phoenix, Ariz., and Jennifer Lynn Huston (Joseph), Eagle River, Alaska; 11 grandchildren: Kayla, Tyler, Emily of Alaska and Julissa, Zeliciana, Jacob, Noah, Nehemiah, Izaiah, Elijah and Annaliyah of Arizona; two brothers, Daniel Baker (Linda), Tucson, Ariz., Austin Baker (Christine), Anamosa, his sister; Carol Allen, Tucson, Ariz. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Marianne Baker, and his brother, Arthur (“Charlie”) Baker.
