Platforms are important

Ok, I know what you’re thinking. Since it’s not a presidential year, why go the caucus on Feb. 7th? Well, by attending the caucuses, you can show your support for your local party, support local candidates and the issues important to you. More importantly, here’s your opportunity to voice your opinion on an issue(s) you are passionate about by writing a simple resolution to be added to the 2022 Iowa Democratic Party Platform. This is where the platform begins to take shape. If you don’t think platforms are relevant, just take a look at the 2020 Iowa Republican Party’s Platform. It’s been a blueprint for legislation for the past few years. So, if you are a student, worker, parent, business owner or retiree, take an evening of your time and meet up with like-minded folks in Jones County.
